* During her youth Debbie Reynolds had ambitions of becoming a physical education teacher.

* Also in 1959 Eddie Fisher left Debbie Reynolds to marry Elizabeth Taylor.
* In 1963 Debbie Reynolds married her second husband Harry Karl. It is rumored that he was responsible for losing not only his fortune but also hers.

* When her acting career slowed down, Debbie Reynolds became a popular nightclub entertainer in Las Vegas.
* In 1984 Debbie Reynolds, with friends, Shelley Winters & Terry Moore starred in an exercise video suitable for mature women.
* In 1993 Debbie Reynolds played Tommy Lee Jones' mother in Oliver Stone's "Heaven and Earth".
* In recent years Debbie Reynolds has been spending her time collecting costumes, props & all forms of movie memorabilia, hoping they would become part of a Hollywood museum. In 1993, she acquired a hotel/casino in Las Vegas to house her collection.
* In 1994, 20 years after the original she returned again as a host in the third sequel of the "That's Entertainment" trilogy, "That's Entertainment! III".
* In 1997 Debbie Reynolds filed for Bankruptcy.
* Despite losing her husband to Elizabeth Taylor in the late 50's, Debbie Reynolds & Elizabeth put aside their differences to work together in 2001 on the TV movie "These Old Broads". The film was written by Debbie's daughter, Carrie Fisher (Princess Leah of "Star Wars" fame). Old friends Shirley MacLaine & Joan Collins also star.
